Before you come to study here

Before you come to study here you must prepare yourself for a game called Bureaucracy. It's not really difficult, but you do have to remember ALL the rules. To make it as easy and smooth as possible we shall take you through the individual steps of the procedure. We are alse including most of the forms to be filled in order to obtain all the necessary permits.


Application documents

When you are nominated by your university or SAIA, n.o. Slovak Republic or CEEPUS, please fill the enclosed   

  • Application form - the application which serves as an application for accommodation at our Halls of Residence;
  • Confirmation from the home university
  • Letter of Award - Confirmation of awarded of the scholarship
  • Learning Agreement and send them either to International Relation Office, together with the (you can use an Erasmus+ form)
  • Passport size photo and scan of passport and ID (both pages)
  • ISIC UMB application

Deadline for submissions (the accomodation)

  • for winter semester: JULY 15
  • for summer semester: NOVEMBER 15


Visa and residence permit:

  1. Nationals of the European Union, the European Economic Area and Switzerland do not need visa for entering Slovakia. They should register at the appropriate foreign police office within 10 days after their arrival to Slovakia.
  2. Nationals of other countries should contact the nearest Slovak Embassy in order to get information about visa and residence permit for temporary stay. See a part Visa and residenc epermit at this web site.


Health insurance

  1. Nationals of the European Union, the European Economic Area and Switzerland shoul obtain the European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) from the health insurance institution to which they are affiliated before their arrival to Slovakia.
  2. We recommend to nationals of other countries to get their health insurance valid for their entire stay in Slovakia before their arrival to Slovakia.
