Annotation of achieved result: The work of M. Kmeť “Historiography of the Lower Land Slovaks in the first half of the 20th century” (Krakow 2013) represents the first attempt to capture the history of Slovak historiography in Lower Land systematically and in a wider area during the first half of the 20th century. Work has the following objectives: (1) to present a picture of the state of the Lower Land Slovak historiography in the first half of the 20th century, with an emphasis on crucial topics in the context of the changed situation after the collapse of Austria-Hungary when the Lower Land Slovaks themselves belonged to the three countries with very different cultural and legal status of minorities, (2) to find the causes of description and interpretations of historical (ethnographic and other) facts and phenomena with an emphasis on the Slovak national history, (3) to formulate and explain the peculiarities of expressions of Slovak ethnicity in the historical material from many localities and regions - mainly in neighbouring states.
