Project information

Annotation of achieved result: The most important result of the grant outputs is a publication: The image of Great Moravia in historical cultures. It consists from 13 contributions, their authors are six members of the research team from Faculty of Arts of Matej Bel University and Faculty of Philosophy of Comenius University, as well as 7 Slovak and Czech experts from the other universities and research institutes. The collective monograph presents not only the cognition’s process of issues and its scientific interpretations, but also the transformation of Great Moravia’s image in historical cultures and the different ways of its instrumentalisation in the political and ideological affairs at different times and social systems. The publication follows also the diverse interpretations of the relationship between Great Moravia and emerging Hungary. It does not only in Slovak historical culture, but also keeps records, how it was and it is presented in Hungarian, Czech, Polish and Russian historiography (and archeology).
