Project information

Annotation of achieved result: The most important result of the project is systematic compilation of historical as well as contemporary hydronymy of the whole Hornád River basin (both running and stagnant waters, springs and waterfalls) – from spring to mouth of the river including all important tributaries (Torysa, Hnilec, Olšava) in monograph Hydronymia of the Slovak part of the Hornad River basin. The compilation comes from the uniform methodology which is obligatory for all projects within all-Slovak project Hydronymia Slovaciae. This methodology was used also for the compilation of the catchment basin in central and western Slovakia. The submitted monograph is the first monograph of the hydronymy from area of eastern Slovakia.
