Reciprocity and tension between translation and intercultural communication
Project information
Annotation of achieved result: The project took place at the Faculty of Arts of Matej Bel University in B. Bystrica from 2013 to 2015. Several departments participated in it: Dep. of German Studies, of Translation Studies, of Slavic Languages and of English and American Studies. Project research results are of high quality, usability in translational practice, significant potential for further continuity of research and had a significant international character. The central themes – translation and interculturality – appear in all publications. The most important are two-reviewed scientific foreign proceedings: Bohušová, Z. – Huťková, A. (eds.) Translation Studies and its Contexts 5: Slovak Translation Studies Today, Vienna, 2013 and Bohušová, Z. – Kadric, M. (eds.) Translation Studies and its Contexts 6: Interpreting, Vienna, 2015. The most significant appreciation of the qualities of the scientific proceedings no. 5 is a successful registration in the Web of Science database. The proceedings no. 6 is in the process of registration.
