Assessment

With the focus on continual assessment students collect points for their overall assessment throughout the whole term. For a student to be assessed, he/she will have to do the following tasks:

1. TEST I, 2. TEST II. A written HISTORICAL ESSAY may be required as a third compulsory assessed task (please check Announcements to find out whether this requirement is applicable in your academic year). In addition, points can be awarded for active class participation and a non-compulsory assessed task (Check Announcements). Test I is a mid-term test written in week 7 or 8, Test II is given after the end of classes (during exam time). The tests are based on the lectures, weekly reading assignments and topics/videos discussed in seminars. Attendance at seminars is compulsory. Students are allowed to miss a maximum of 2 seminars. If your required to write the essay click How to Write a Historical Essay and (if a topic involves a comparative element) How to Write a Comparative Analysis to access complete guides how to go about this written assignment.
