My week-long Erasmus is coming to an end and this is to say that I'll be back at work next Monday, October the 21st. That means that all classes with me are back on as scheduled (we'll be covering Topic 6 -Stress in Simple Words). There's only one exception. The 14:35 Phonetics & Phonology seminar is cancelled as all first year students of our department are supposed to attend Teacher-Student Meeting in F313 at 14:30. |

The mid-semester written test (covering topics 1 - 6) will be given in two weeks' time, between November the 4th and 6th, 2024. Each of the five groups will be taking it during their regular seminar hours. The Monday lecture on 4 November will take place as scheduled. |

All Phonetics and Phonology seminars this week are cancelled. I'm on antibiotics for the rest of the week, so no classes this Tuesday and Wednesday. I do believe I’ll be back, up and running, next week. I’m planning to make changes to Monday’s lecture so that it reflects stuff coming up in your mid-semester test. That remains on schedule as planned. Meanwhile, use the time to get ready for the test. For preparation, draw on your coursebook (i.e. designated weekly reading assignments) and Roach’s Glossary (available in PDF in Additional Resources on the course website, PASSWORD: pronzfun22) for theoretical issues. Use 1. the written exercises (following chapters in the coursebook) and the recorded exercises (at the back of the coursebook), 2. lecture slide prints and 3. homework assignments for transcription practice. |
