Výzva: Visegrad Literary Residency Program
Visegrad Literary Residency Program, established 2012 by the International Visegrad Fund, consists of a series of residency stays and literary events addressed to writers of fiction and non-fiction, poets, essayists, critics as well as literary translators, publicists and journalists from the Visegrad Group (V4) countries (Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia). The program provides support for work and mobility of talented literary residents and aims at creating a platform for information exchange and support the development and promotion of V4 literature in Central Europe.
Partnership
The Visegrad Literary Residency Program is run in partnership of four institutions: Institut umění (The Arts Institute) in Prague, Petőfi Irodalmi Múzeum (Petőfi Literary Museum) in Budapest, Villa Decius Association in Cracow, and Literárne informačné centrum (Centre for Information on Literature) in Bratislava. Each of the host institutions is responsible for organizing the stay and securing accommodation and work space for a group of four literary residents (i.e., one from each V4 country), who will be working on their individual literary projects and also participating in a literary event organized in the host city.
The program’s 2015 edition will enable 32 literary residents to carry their 6-week/3-month literary projects in the four host institutions in either given period: May 1–June 12, 2015 (Compact Spring Edition), or September 1–November 30, 2015 (Regular Autumn Edition). Selected residents will receive a stipend of €1,125 (Compact Spring Edition), or €2,250 (Regular Autumn Edition).
Recruitment
The recruitment process of the 32 planned grantees (8 from each V4 country) will be based on individual applications via an online application form available on the website of the Villa Decius Association. The residences will be assigned to applicants in a 3-stage selection process chaired by a national and international selection panel on the basis of proportional and equal involvement of Czech, Hungarian, Polish, and Slovak residents and host institutions.
